Eco Friendly Cookware - Fissler's Innovation Makes Cookware More Efficient

It seems like the world is finally stepping up the environmental plate and taking a stab at "going green." Amazingly enough, even cookware is starting to jump on the bandwagon, helping people save energy and time when cooking. The Fissler company from Germany has made a particularly strong impact on the cooking world with cooking technologies that are well ahead of the times. They have taken simple kitchen staples and revitalized them to meet the current needs of the world.

Frying Pan

First take a look at the base of Fissler pot and pans. They call it the "CookStar" base because it has rays on the bottom that resemble a star. The metal in the base is curved slightly inward so that when it is heated up, it expands to lie flat on the stove top. This helps ensure that the pan is being heated up as quickly as possible and that the heat is evenly distributed to the surface. This is one of the most obvious but most ingenious inventions in cooking technology because it saves energy and makes food cook better.

The "star" portion of the CookStar is another measure used to ensure that the pan sits flat on the surface of the stovetop. The rays of the star are actually expansion slots that respond to the movement of the metal, always keeping it flat. The base is designed to never warp and can be used for anything. Fissler uses the base for most of its new line, but they've gone a step further than that. Every dish that they designed was created to make cooking easier for the person and for the world. The reduction in the use of cooking oils reduces overall fats yielding healthier meals. A secondary benefit that is increasingly important to a wider proportion of the population.

Their pressure cookers, on the other hand, do save on energy because they reduce the time needed to cook and finish many recipes. The use of pressure also encapsulates nutrients and flavor resulting in healthier and tastier meals. Reduced time in cooking and better tasting meals is a goal of most home cooks and personal chefs.

Now, I'm not saying that you should throw out all of your old cookware and replace everything with Fissler products from Your Smart Kitchen, but it is nice to know that someone is starting to think about the future. There are other companies around that are trying to come up with environmentally friendly products, but Fissler seems to be a little ahead of the game. So when you think about adding a new sauce pan or fry pan or even trying the innovative woks or pressure cookers, think green and add Fissler.

Other manufacturers may follow in their footsteps, leading to more green technology and a better world. But as this time Fissler is way out in front in thinking about our earth and environment and at the same time providing easy to use and innovative products for the kitchen.
